Not Around Much As if moving weren't enough, my phone and DSL won't be hooked up until Saturay. This means I won't be online much. I'll try to catch up with all of ya when I get back. Sorry! (I'm at work right now, in case you're curious how I'm posting this.) | | Wednesday, August 1st, 2007 | | 10:20 pm |
Just To Let You Know I'm alive. I wasn't anywhere near the bridge when it collapsed. In fact, I was working late and I found out about it when my brother called to check on me. Since then, I've been calling everyone I know. | | Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 | | 9:42 pm |

Winnie's 15 Minutes Of Fame? A cameraman stopped by the dog park today. He said he was from channel 9 (Fox 9). He seemed impressed by Winnie's moves with the soccer ball and got a lot of shots of her playing. I expect talent agents to be hunting us down anytime now. Edit: I got this in an email from my realtor this morning: I saw Winnie on channel 9 news last night. She had the most airtime of all the dogs...pretty cool!Yay! | | Thursday, April 12th, 2007 | | 12:35 am |
Kurt Vonnegut Dead At 84 Here's to you, Mr. Vonnegut. I was drawn by the sirens of Titan Carried along by their call Seeking for a way to enlighten Searching for the sense of it all Like a kiss on the wind I was thrown to the stars Captured and ordered in the army of Mars Marching to the sound of the drum in my head I followed the call Only to be Malachi Constant I thought I came to this earth Living in the heart of the moment With the riches I gained at my birth But here in the yellow and blue of my days I wander the endless Mercurian caves Watching for the signs the Harmonians make The words on the walls I was drawn by the sirens of Titan And so I came in the end Under the shadow of Saturn With statues and birds for my friends Finding a home at the end of my days Looking around I've only to say I was the victim of a series of accidentsAs are we all I was drawn by the sirens of Titan (as are we all) As are we all I was drawn by the sirens of Titan (as are we all) As are we all... Heinous If this were my dog and I caught the person who did it, they'd be dead. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/03/15/dog.head.ap/index.htmlAs if it's not already bad enough, I read another article in the paper that said this girl has already suffered some trauma in the past and that this was her therapy dog. I'm going to get in touch with the local chapter of the Humane Society and see if they'll accept donations to add to the reward. Edit: OMG, it gets even worse. According to this article, the police were incompetent and cruel when they came to the family's house. http://wcco.com/pets/local_story_066202702.html | | Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 | | 12:34 am |
Gay Sex And Marriage Many religious people are against homosexual and lesbian sex. And most if not all of these same people are against gay marriage. To me, this makes no sense. Because, if you stop to think about it, the surest way to keep two people from having sex is to let them get married! | | Wednesday, August 30th, 2006 | | 10:19 pm |
Greetings As you've likely guessed, the majority of my posts are friends-only. If you want to be added, just ask! Tell me where you know me from, and I will likely add you. P.S. If you know who Leander, Gizmo, EofS, WooHoo, etc. are, you will DEFINITELY be added. Just ask. | | Saturday, September 17th, 2005 | | 9:36 pm |
Sevilia Game Update Here is a screen shot from the Sevilia game: Existing characters are: Admiral Memo Anubis Doggy Spew Miguel Existing houses (which produce their relevant character) are: Metal Desk Ancient Pyramid Messy Doghouse Hobbit Hole Existing terrain types are: Grass Mountain River Road Tree Emily and I played a game against each other. She won. :-P All the necessary functionality for beta testing seems to be there. I just need to add more terrain types and characters. Leander, if you get the time and the inclination, maybe you could update your website thingy and announce this somewhere where lots of Sevilians will see it? ;-) Oh, and as long as I'm on the subject, I found a similar game that some folks are working on called Freelords. It's at http://www.freelords.org . Notice that there are currently SEVEN people working on this game, and there have been a total of 21 contributors so far, not to mention all the play-testing they've got going and the feedback on their message boards... And for the Sevilian game, there's me. ;-) Oh, and ChocJones, who (masterfully) drew the characters (which I modified, go me!) and the grass. Ahh, I need her help again... where is she? Edit: More appropriately, all the necessary functionality for alpha testing seems to be there. ;-) And, I attempted to contact ChocJones at SeviliaNet. Go me! :-P | | Tuesday, July 12th, 2005 | | 12:38 am |
July 7, 2005 A language without the word tragedy would have little use for the word triumph. A society that did not know catastrophe would know little about compassion. Knowledge of what it truly means for something to be termed horrible or horrendous goes hand-in-hand with knowledge of what it truly means for someone to be a hero. If the world has learned anything in the past few days, it's that the best of the human spirt is alive and well in London, England. | | Monday, June 20th, 2005 | | 8:33 pm |
